Picking a Class (Offering) at Mage Flow Pole & Fitness

Average Beautiful Pole Dancer- Strength/Grace/Longevity! Image by magnific

It gets a bit overwhelming trying to decide where to start. I myself always call the studio to clarify!

There is nothing worse than walking into a class and the following happening

1)You are horrified to see it is a "we are working on the splits today in class and... you couldn't touch your toes to do your nails last night without a struggle!

2) Women are on the pole holding pose after pose and you just learned to climb without sliding down in a heep only to rise like a baby giraffe!

3) They are dancing away nodding like they are LA lakers cheerleaders and... you are 6 moves behind and can't remember the 1s set you were shown!

Yeah...been there, done all that...and there is nothing like leaving feeling worse than ya came is just not any fun! 3 classes in, and you wonder why you thought you could do this thing!

Well that is sorta why we opened up the studio! Individual women need a different way to learn body positivity, to be safe and okay with the vulnerability it takes to even sign up much less arrive and make it through a class.

The world move so fast and at the Retreat like Studio, all that gets pushed away and we get to learn at our own pace in an environment for WOMEN in a sport that is by women and has proven physical outcome way in the positive zones! No one should be left behind and pole fitness needs to meet women where they are AT, not where a leveled athlete is at!

Mage Flow Pole & Fitness prides itself on the fact that 97% of women are not athletes, so our classes are built for that population. Women need somewhere SAFE to go and work-out with the body we have in the present DAY. Not Lofty goals of wishful thinking and the delusional thoughts of "it'll happen if I don't eat and just work out more".

That is NOT real life for 97% of women! There are a lot of us, lost in the shuffle, and giving up way to soon because of the embarrassment for GOING to a class. It is NEVER too late. The muscles you grow now will be easier to train if you can't stick with it, coming back is way easier after learning POLE! I should know. I was 57. Had a near fatal wreck and restarted at age 60!!!

I also was not able to fully focus in some studios because of my own body consciousness, and really needed an instructor who didn't make me feel like a burden, silly, too old (that was hard to find) or flat out hopeless (yeah I've had those too and cried a lot). But I loved pole so much, saw my body change so much, I knew it was RIGHT and never stopped. I have a few ortho, cardiologists and GP's who are fascinated by it, and what it does for a women's total body!

So here is a bit about each class for you to consider.

The speed of the class is important when ya start as are the little things we carry from our environment that are important to us like music, grace, and "who we are inside". I wanted some grace, definitely some strength(lifting) and endurance(cardio) with a double helping of FUN(dance)!

So find what interests you! Is it sporty? Is it body positivity and feeling more grace filled? Is it cardio alone? Muscles? Need to get some bendy, get rid of achy stiffness or increase the pep in your step? Or do you NEED to just get away-work-out and get it done 'cuz you're BUSY?! Wanna glide and flow not jump around? Wanna just watch and follow and zone out to music with a message or no message?

Recreational lifting fitness - just for fun without getting leered at? Maybe recreational dance for some stress relief and socializing? Need to get your Mo-Jo back so ya feel like relating to other people in SOME way in this nutty world we live in?

Pole Fitness can do that as you become more body positive, feel stronger and more confident with every class! ALL Classes are taught for beginner folks, so there are no big changes to a class if you are new and just coming in the door. You're just a sister we are welcoming home!

Heels are not used in many classes and Heels are always optional, and we encourage an instructor discussion before you buy some as we evaluate your balance every class and can SEE what you need and get you to your goals! In fact some choreography are easier to do in sock feet! So bring them but be prepared for the days fun!

No matter what your "thing is", pole fitness is extremely flexible! We have structured the classes with clear goals based on OUR population in the area and what they are telling us. If you don't see what you are looking for, please drop us an email or go to the forms drop down and fill out the student request form for days, times or anything you are looking for!

See you in class!
